Pathfinder Compass Case Kit

The Pathfinder Compass Case is an heirloom quality DIY kit.  This project is a collaboration between TogetherMade and Dave Canterbury of the Pathfinder School / Self Reliance Outfitters. The case is designed to fit the SUUNTO MC-2 compass, but it also fits many other handy EDC items - 3.25 Wide / 4.5 Tall

Contents:

  • Case cover (with snap and grommets pre-installed)
  • case sides
  • two USA made harness needles
  • waxed poly thread
  • custom TogetherMade wooden leather slicker tool (for burnishing edges)
  • sandpaper
  • Metal tin of high-quality saddle soap (to give your journal an amazingly soft and rich finish)
  • paracord with breakaway POP barrel connector

In this project you will learn to saddle stitch, burnish and finish this piece - the result is unique, functional & beautiful.  The case can be worn on a belt or on the included paracord lanyard

The case is made from the highest quality veggie tanned leather (6oz front, 5-6oz sides). The thread provided is top end, USA made waxed poly cord.  All the stitch holes in the kit are pre-cut in the TogetherMade shop so you can achieve professional results with every kit

Note: All you need to provide is a clean rag and water for applying the saddle soap on the last step

This project takes approximately 1-1.5 hours to complete and requires intermediate hand strength and the ability to follow detailed instructions.  Recommended for 12 and up - some kids will require help
